Introduction Letter

Welcome prospective members of the Colorado Springs Football Officials Association (CSFOA).

We begin each season with classes to introduce you to the rules and procedures of officiating high school football.  The classes start Monday June 22th and are every Monday and Thursday until August 6th. Following the classes, you will take a 100 question online exam. After successfully passing the exam, you will be “drafted” onto one of eight crews.  That is followed by an on-field mechanics clinic (Date TBD).  You will also work a scrimmage or two with your crew mates on later dates.

First year officials will work sub-varsity games – Junior High, C squad, and Junior Varsity.  The number of games you work will depend on your availability, skill, and interest. We use Arbitersports.com for scheduling so you have the ability to “block” days and/or times you are not available.

Keep in mind although this is a fun endeavor it requires a financial and time commitment.  You will spend approximately $200-$250 for uniform items and you are expected to attend weekly meetings during the season.  Games are played almost every weekday, some beginning as early as 3pm during the week, and earlier on Saturdays.

Our meeting and classes start at 6:30 and will be held at:

Trinity United Methodist Church
701 N 20th St.  Colorado Springs, 80904

Please enter through the lower doors and make your way to their auditorium.

Thanks for your interest.  After you fill out our contact form, I will be in touch with more detailed information regarding the CSFOA and becoming a member of the association.
